How often do you hear women saying, “I need to lose weight?” Are you one of them? Answer a quick question if you answered in the affirmative. How much “Me Time” do you get?

Think about it and be honest with yourself.

It may be one of the issues that is stopping you from being your ideal weight.

The world has become a crazy, busy place. More is expected from Moms than ever before. We work, take care of the kids, go to school, show up to many of the kid’s events as possible, take care of mom-me-timeour partners, do laundry, go grocery shopping, fix meals, keep up with friends and family, check in on Facebook, exercise, and the list goes on. Then we wonder why we become stressed and gain weight.

Now think about it. When was the last time you took some time for yourself? I know you’re already overwhelmed with life, but that’s all the more reason to take some time for yourself.

You can do anything you enjoy with your alone time: meditate, practice yoga, read, watch a show or movie you enjoy, give yourself a pedicure, give yourself a facial, take a hot bath, write a letter, or anything else that makes you feel relaxed.

If you love to cook or bake, don’t avoid it just because you want to lose weight, if you’re anything like me. I love to cook. When I steer clear of the kitchen and stop cooking meals I love, I tend to want it more and end up eating extra carbs somewhere else. Instead, learn to eat smaller portions of the foods you fattening foods that you love.

So, the next time you say to yourself or someone else, “I need to lose weight,” assess your life and determine if you get enough time for yourself.
